DROWNING IN A SEA OF HAPPINESS
Quel disque! Ce bijou sorti tout droit du Chicago des années 80, démontre une fois de plus toute la grandiosité de la scène techno-house de l'époque. On ne peut pas s'empêcher de citer les maîtres Ron Hardy, Marshall Jefferson, Fairley Jackmaster Funk. Derrière Laurent X se cache deux hommes: Mark Imperial et Vinny Divine qui viennent se rajouter à la liste. Ils signent en 1988"Machines", EP qui fait encore le bonheur de toutes les "Happy Face" jaunes sous Acid(ou pas).
Fortement influencé par l'Italo-disco (Mark déclarera d'ailleurs avoir commencer sa carrière de DJ en jouant principalement de l'Italo), il est très amusant de voir qu'aujourd'hui, la scène house se réclame de ses mêmes auteurs, bref, l'arroseur arrosé.
Voici le deuxième morceau de la face B, une fraction dévastatrice de deep house old school:

In 1988, they sign"Machines", this EP still brings joy in the soul of all the yellow happy faces under acid(or not).
Highly influenced by Italo-disco(Mark said "this is how the whole thing started"), it is funny to see that today, the house scene declare itself from these same authors. A case of the biter bit.
